About me/us:

I am a singer and lead singing groups and workshops where I teach songs from a variety of styles and cultures. I teach everything by ear, so participants do not need to be able to read music. I am looking for others to make music and lead workshops with – both singers and instrumentalists. My main interest lies in traditional singing and folk music but I also love Early Music, though I have no formal training in this. I have led music workshops with others before and enjoy teaching in a group and, of course, singing in harmony. I cannot remember a time I did not love singing. My nan taught me German folk songs and my mum led us in Christmas carols during Advent. Growing up Lutheran, I sung hymns in harmony from a young age and joined my first choir at the age of 5. In 2016, Pauline Down introduced me to the Natural Voice Network and I enjoyed her aural teaching, inclusivity and playfulness. She inspired me to complete Natural Voice Leader Training with Frankie Armstrong and Sarah Harman in 2017. In 2022, I completed Singing for Lung Health training with Phoene Cave from The Musical Breath and am working to set up a Singing for Lung Health group in Rochdale Borough. I lead two Secret Singers groups in Marple and Nelson. Come along if you only sing along to the car radio but feel shy about singing in a group. We will make you feel welcome. I love to move and sing. Expect stepping, clapping, snapping and even waltzing when you sing with me. If you are looking for calm and silence instead, try out one of my Silence and Songs workshops. I completed Singing for Lung Health training with Phoene Cave from The Musical Breath last year and am now running a group in Urmston. I love to move and sing. Expect stepping, clapping, snapping and even waltzing when you sing with me. If you are looking for calm and silence instead, try out one of my sacred singing workshops.
