Your chance to influence how Sound Sense is run

Sound Sense is run for its members by its members writes chair Sam Dunkley - people like you who form the board of Sound Sense. As a board, we control the overall policy of the organisation, make sure it's financially sound, and steer the activities of its staff. You could join us.

Each year a number of board members have to retire, and this year we will be looking for four new board members to join us. It is important that Sound Sense is as broadly representative as possible, so we particularly welcome nominations from members from black and minority backgrounds.

Our board take their responsibility seriously and commit to attending three board meetings a year (expenses paid, naturally) and actively contributing to a working group.

It is an exciting time to join the Sound Sense board, as we have begun to develop our future business strategy and will soon be looking to develop our next corporate plan. By joining the board now, you will be able to have your say in the future development of your organisation.

If you want to find out more about being a board member, please contact myself, Sam Dunkley, on sam@samdunkley.co.uk or Åsa Malmsten on asa.malmsten@soundsense.org.

If you are ready to nominate yourself for board membership (you don't need a seconder), just email Åsa, by Wednesday 18 October 2017, including these details:
Your name, organisation (if any) and address
Your email address and phone number
The statement "I wish to stand for election to Sound Sense Board of Management. If elected, I undertake to carry out the duties of a charity trustee and company director, including attending board meetings and contributing to a working group"
A short boig (up to 100 words) about who you are and what you would bring to board.

If more than four people nominate themselves, we will hold an email ballot opening late October.
