Led by Gary Bowden, Unique Music is an Autism and learning disabilities/difficulties friendly music project based in North Shields, enabling people to create, play and record their own music. During one to one sessions people play instruments (drums, percussion, guitar or keyboard), sing, or use technology, to create their own music to take home on CD. We also facilitate group sessions in the community, including singing, songwriting and making simple instruments from recycled materials with care home residents and dementia groups. Soundscape commissions made in collaboration with community participants have been created for Museums Northumberland and Lumiere Light Art Festival.
