'SPIRIT OF THE FRINGE' award 'BEST MUSIC SHOW' top 4 nominated "Make no mistake, this is a man who is passionate about peace and social justice; he just also happens to have an excellent sense of humour and an engaging stage presence." - Buxton Festival Fringe I’ve been employed professionally as a singer, songwriter and community musician for 4 decades, embracing some of the finest venue stages across the UK and beyond at festivals, theatres, in bars, and mostly anywhere with decent coffee. I am project manager for two youth music groups, music leader for a number of dementia friendly community groups, and I deliver music memory singalongs for The Alzheimer's Society. With my partner Trish we are 'Darren & Trish', award winning duo playing mostly original songs on acoustic guitar, harmonica, ukelele, and optional piano. We have produced and delivered hundreds of live streamed concerts from our home since ‘the lockdown’, and we are recipients of the 'Spirit Of The Fringe' award at Buxton Festival Fringe. Our stage persona is always entertaining, friendly and accessible to any audience. We are very experienced, passionate about live performance and creativity, more than capable of delivering an inclusive set of songs and singalongs at a wide range of settings and events. We are also often available at short notice, we have transport, and coming out of the North West of England with friends to visit around the UK, we are happy to travel and live 'on the road' to take up music opportunities. We have our own sound system and lights suitable for a venue holding around 150 people. Our fees are always reasonable, we truly appreciate a good cup of coffee or two, and most importantly access to fresh water before and during performance. We appreciate an opportunity to snack afterwards if there is fresh food available. Please note we may need to add travel / accom expenses to fees, however multiple bookings that keep us ’on the road’ can help keep costs to a minimum, thank you :-)
