Westminster Hall debate on arts and health
Date posted: 27 September 2017
Do it now: email your local MP to tell them about your work and encourage them to attend this debate on 11 October
Following the publication earlier this year of the report of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Arts Health and Wellbeing - Creative Health: The Arts for Health and Wellbeing, there will be a Westminster Hall debate on the Effects of the Arts on Health. The debate will be on 11 October 2017 from 4.30-5.30pm: www.parliament.uk/mps-lords-and-offices/offices/commons/speakers-office/wadjourns/ and is to be moved by the Rt Hon. Ed Vaizey MP, the Co-Chair of the APPG.

The National Alliance is encouraging arts and health practitioners to email your local MP to tell them about your work and encourage them to attend the debate. If you don’t know who your MP is you can find them here: www.TheyWorkForYou.com. Emails can be short and simply link to your activity and the debate www.parliament.uk/mps-lords-and-offices/offices/commons/speakers-office/wadjourns/ It may also be helpful to link to the report www.artshealthandwellbeing.org.uk/appg-inquiry/ and ask MPs whether they might consider joining the APPG. A strong expression of interest in the debate is likely to prompt increased action in response to the Inquiry report.

Please spread the word about the debate via your networks and tweet about it using the hashtags #APPGAHW and #ArtsHealthWellbeing.
