Since 2017 Sound Sense has partnered with the Child Protection Company to enable Sound Sense members to access high quality safeguarding training.
Our team has tested a number of online safeguarding training courses available on the market to make sure Sound Sense members get access to the best possible training, covering the wide range of settings community musicians work in.
Courses are delivered online so you can take the training when it is convenient to you. Sound Sense is pleased to be able to offer a 10% discount for individual and organisational members.
Members working only with children and young people should choose the Safeguarding in Music Education course. This course covers working with children and young people from birth to 18 years old.
The course is priced at £28.95 plus VAT.
Members who work with adults and/or children should choose the Introduction to Adult/Child Protection course. This course covers working with people in a range of settings, ages and abilities and is perhaps the most relevant training option for community musicians who work outside of formal music education.
The course is priced at £23.25 plus VAT.
Both courses feature:
- Designed in line with the latest government guidance, including 'Working together to Safeguard Children 2018' and 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'
- Fulfils the Safeguarding training outcomes as specified by OFSTED and equivalent governing bodies
- Regional variants available for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland
- Covers everything from concern to referral and is suitable for any worker in any field.
Both courses contain plenty of good resources and additional information that you can download and save for reference.
Each course is divided into modules and will take approximately 2 hours to complete. Upon completion of the course the certificate is emailed to you. The certificate is valid for 2 years.
We are pleased to be able to offer all Sound Sense members a 10% discount on both courses. Organisation members will be eligible a further discount of between 10% and 40% for bulk booking courses for their staff.
