Youth Choir Director

Leicestershire Music is seeking an experienced and visionary Youth Choir Director to establish, lead, and grow our new youth choir (secondary aged pupils). This is a unique opportunity to shape a choir from the ground up—developing its artistic identity, building membership, and creating a vibrant, inclusive musical singing community.

We are looking to issue a contract for services to someone who can combine strong musical and vocal expertise with the ability to design and implement effective recruitment and retention strategies, ensuring the choir becomes sustainable, engaging, and high-quality from its inception.

This is a self-employed annual contract.

In return for delivering 30 x weekly rehearsals during term time and 24 hours for planning and outreach we will pay £2760 in total (to be invoiced termly) – there will also be additional renumeration for a minimum of 3 concerts per year and 2 meetings.

Rehearsals will be on a Monday in term time from 5:00 – 6:30pm in a central Leicester location (Haymarket Theatre).
