This opportunity is for musicians based in Manchester or Trafford who are interested in developing their facilitation skills and learning more about the benefits of music for health, wellbeing, and social connections for older adults, particularly those who are isolated and housebound.
You might be taking your first steps in community music or looking to develop your skills in delivering personalised sessions for older adults. We ask that you commit to the key dates and activities outlined below, and undergo a DBS check prior to commencing the placement.
KEY ACTIVITIES
- Introductory meeting online (11th June, 5 pm)
- 2-day in-person training sessions in Manchester (21st & 22nd June)
- Delivery of minimum 8x musical home visits (July – December)
- Mentoring and review meetings (July – December)
The training is free to attend, with travel expenses covered, thanks to funding from Arts Council England. Home visits are paid at £30 per visit, inclusive of travel.
