This traineeship will take place over 20 weeks between September 2021 and March 2022 and will be paid the national living wage.

Trainees will be supported to develop their musical leadership skills and inclusive practice through paid, on the job training and shadowing opportunities within Sage Gateshead’s Young People’s Programme.

Overall purpose of the traineeship:

• To develop high quality music leadership skills and inclusive practice through shadowing, observation, training, reflective practice and contributing to activities supported by experienced Sage Gateshead Music Leaders;
• To champion excellence and inclusion in music education and facilitation for children and young people.

The time commitment for trainees will be 11.5 hours per week split between mentor meetings, practice observations, reflective conversations, and self-directed research.
