Music Making SENse believes everyone should have the chance to learn from, share, and make music with others. The role of the tutor will be to facilitate and support growth through music making ensembles. Tutors will stimulate and develop musical skills through engaging repertoire and activities, and enable creative responses from participants to flourish, enhancing their musical, personal and social development. Sessions will include instrumental play, vocalising, improvising in an ensemble and may include performances, composing, and cross-curricular connections as is appropriate to the group.
About you: We are looking for inspirational and innovative music leaders. You must be confident of your ability to support others musical aspirations and create an inclusive and accessible space for collaboration; strong musical skills and experience of working in SEN/D settings is essential. You must be able to foster good and supportive working relationships with staff in the settings. The role includes planning in line with MMS practice, as well as curriculum goals in some settings.
Initially the role is for one setting starting in January 2019 (Mondays at Adult Day Centre 10.30 – 11.30am). Additional settings may be offered as new opportunities arise.
