ICCM are seeking a freelance Research Associate to join Dr Ruth Currie and Professor Lee Higgins in their evaluation of MOVE: Musicians and Organisers Volunteer Exchange

This is a freelance position from July-September 2021.

We are looking to welcome a self-directed and highly motivated researcher to our team who is experienced in producing literature reviews and written projects that support knowledge exchange and understanding through research.

Our ideal candidate has confidence and experience of working conceptually in the context of intercultural learning and development, drawing from a range of philosophical perspectives which respond to and connect through complex intercultural ways of seeing the world. As this project is situated across Norway, Malawi, Mozambique and Brazil, we are particularly interested in working with a researcher with a reflexive and ethical perspective on decolonized knowledge production and exchange.

Some of the essential criteria for this role:

  • A PhD (or near completion) in a related area of specialism (e.g. community music, intercultural learning, organizational development, cultural participation, international development)
  • A strong track record of producing written projects, proportionate to current career stage
  • An ability to write and communicate clearly in English (please note, English does not need to be your first language)
  • Experience in leading on the design and implementation of interview methods and be able to critically analyse historical material and data to produce clear and accessible findings that can support practice
