The role:
Deliver fun & inspiring band-style ensemble sessions in primary schools across Merseyside, starting mid-September 2025
Support children to develop musical confidence and soft skills
Lead live performances in termly concerts with your pupils
Build strong relationships with schools, teachers & parents
Contribute to a thriving SoMi team, sharing experience & inspiration
SoMi Band Leaders are:
Talented instrumentalists specialising in piano, ukulele, bass, guitar, percussion, or vocals with a basic proficiency in all other instruments
Passionate teachers / ensemble leaders, capable of fostering creative, inclusive music-making
Outgoing, confident & approachable, with a high level of integrity & resilience
Highly collaborative with excellent interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with young children, the SoMi team, and school staff
Committed to inspiring a culture of music within primary schools & increasing the uptake of children
Able to work in a way that promotes the safety and well-being of children

Contract & Pay:
Freelance basis, with a pay rate from £42 per hour of delivery
Term-time hours, starting at 5-10 hours per week (9 AM – 3 PM)
