Arts Train
Music Workshop Facilitators (early career)
Location: London
Deadline: 31 January 2022
ArtsTrain, in partnership with Creative Bexley, is looking for an early career music practitioner who is passionate about empowering young people through music to facilitate its student-led schools music project

This is a developmental opportunity for an artist to work with an experienced ArtsTrain practitioner to develop skills and knowledge of working in educational settings. The music project will run in two Bexley based schools in the early Spring Term, delivering 8-10 sessions for a student-led project. We’re ideally looking for artists who grew up, live and/or work in Bexley, as we build our Cultural Education Partnership (Creative Bexley) to champion the development of local artists.

This role would suit an enthusiastic and experienced producer/musician/songwriter who is passionate about empowering young people through music and who shares ArtsTrain’s ethos in bringing innovative music-making opportunities to young people, particularly those with little or no access to formal music making.

You will:

  • likely have highly developed musical skills evidenced through your work
  • likely have undertaken some recognised training to develop your music though you might be largely self-taught
  • be based within a school and will work closely with the staff in the music department
  • have interpersonal skills, musical fluency, enthusiasm, flexibility, open-mindedness, a willingness to learn and work with a diverse range of children and young people

Payment for complete project is £1000.
