Bristol Beacon
Freelance Music Leader and Freelance Assistant Music Leader
Location: Bristol
Salary: £35ph
Deadline: 21 March 2022
Bristol Beacon is looking for music facilitators to lead and inspire its National Open Youth Opera (NOYO) ensemble of young disabled and non-disabled musicians

We are looking for an experienced Music Leader and an Assistant Music Leader to lead and conduct rehearsals, responding to the specific needs of ensemble participants. You will guide the musical development of young people at the Bristol NOYO Centre, supporting the preparation and performance of exciting new musical repertoire.

You will have experience of providing inspiring, high quality and inclusive music delivery, across a range of environments, ideally working with disabled young people, and those with additional needs. You will be well organised, accomplished in reading and writing musical notation, and have a good ability to innovate musically as well as work within a given framework.

The Music Leader will have the primary responsibility for preparing and running the rehearsals, with the Assistant Music Leader supporting this process, leading when required.

For both roles you will have a flexible young person-centred approach, with the ability to work collaboratively and responsibly with other NOYO Music Leaders. You will be able to act as an ambassador for NOYO, Open Up Music and Bristol Beacon and will use and value a range of different forms of communication to enable the ‘voice’ of the young person to be heard.
