2x Research Assistants

ICCM are seeking 2x Research Assistants (July to December) to join Dr Ruth Currie and Professor Lee Higgins in their evaluation of MOVE: Musicians and Organisers Volunteer Exchange, at York St John University

This is a fixed term freelance position from July - December 2021.

We are looking to welcome two self-directed and highly motivated post-graduate researchers to our team as Research Assistants. Our ideal candidates have confidence and experience of working as part of a research team and are experienced in participatory methods and facilitation and in developing research outputs that are accessible to diverse audiences. As this project is situated across Norway, Malawi, Mozambique and Brazil, we are particularly interested in working with post-graduate researchers with a reflexive and ethical perspective on decolonized knowledge production and exchange who have experience of working on international projects.

Some of the essential criteria for this role include:

  • Have completed or currently be enrolled in a post-graduate degree in a related area of specialism (e.g. community music, intercultural learning, organizational development, cultural participation, international development)
  • Experience in producing written projects, proportionate to current career stage
  • An ability to write and communicate clearly in English (please note, English does not need to be your first language)
  • Experience of a range of data collection and analysis approaches (ideally, including participatory methods)
