Webinar Series: Step Up! Inclusive practice for music ed

Drake Music hosts the second half of its webinar series with three episodes exploring inclusive practice in music education from all different angles

In these webinars we will lift the lid on our approach to inclusive music making and share Drake Music techniques and skills. The topics for each episode are based on core competencies for music educators working with young Disabled people, and are also in line with Music Education Hub Core Roles.

This is part two of the series. Part one comprised of episodes one, two and three and recordings of these can be found on the Drake Music website.

Each event has its own booking and you can attend as many or as few as you wish.

20 May - Episode 4: Inclusive Communications
We will look at practical tools and approaches including Needs-Based Communication and Makaton.

17 June – Episode 5: Getting into Music Tech in the Classroom
Two of our experienced DM Associate Musicians – Michael Dollan and Caro Churchill – will be taking you through inclusive tech options to use within classroom settings.

30 September – Episode 6: The Inclusion Journey – A discussion with four Music Education Hubs
Join us for a panel discussion hosted by musician John Kelly, featuring our Music Hub partners:

  • Tower Hamlets Arts and Music Education Service
