Skills Lab Academy is the community music training programme of Spitalfields Music. It's designed for musicians, aged 18+, from all backgrounds who wish to develop their skills in creative music-making and leadership in a range of community settings, and meet fellow like-minded artists.

This practical training day, the second in the 2023 Skills Lab series, will give participants an insight into the range of approaches used by experienced music leader James Redwood and composer, BBC Concert Orchestra violinist and music leader Sarah Freestone. Featuring a mixture of set-piece exercises and more free-ranging creative ideas, this day will have a focus on using existing repertoire as a starting point for engaging, effective co-creation with workshop participants.
