Music for perinatal mental health – Evolve Music
Join Lifeboat for a journey of musical discovery as Evolve Music leads us through an exploration of music for mental wellbeing in parenthood
The power of music to influence mood and emotional wellbeing is indisputable - but what can we all do to harness that power to improve our children's wellbeing, our own wellbeing and improve our relationship with our children.
Evolve Music will be introducing us to their Explorers and Adventurers programme and offering practical tools we can all apply to ourselves and our work with families who may be experiencing mental health challenges relating to pregnancy, birth or early parenthood.
Through Explorers & Adventurers Evolve Music provides early years music activities for children and families who benefit from additional support. They work in partnership with health visiting teams, children’s services and charitable organisations across the South West to design and deliver early years programmes that are flexible around the needs that are best identified by those working at this grassroots level.
Evolve Music provides inclusive music services for communities in the South West, and professional development for musicians and educators nationally. They use music as a tool for positive change.
Evolve Music’s child-led adult-responsive approach to early years music helps to develop creativity and musicality, language and communication skills, wellbeing and emotional regulation in young children.
At Lifeboat we love to incorporate music into our peer support work with parents and children. Come and share your own experiences and practices during this musical lunchtime!
