Exploring Play, Improvisation and Interactions in Sound

In person training - 10.30am-1pm (arrive from 10am)

This session will be an opportunity to come together and explore musical play and improvisation. With a mixture of experiential learning and reflective practice we will have the chance as a group to look closely at what it means to be a spontaneous musical dialogue with others. We will have the chance to explore our role in this dialogue and will come away with some clear, practical and actionable tools that we can use in our practice with people with complex additional needs. There will be an emphasis on working with a participant-led approach, embracing spontaneity, surprise, playfulness and a focus on simplicity, the importance of repetition and how we can work dynamically with pace and structure to achieve meaningful musical experiences for all.
