An Introduction to Youth Voice & Participation
13 December 2018
A Sound Connections training session looking at how to involve young people in decision-making, and the benefits of co-production with young people

This stimulating training day will transform how you think about youth engagement. We will explain the core principles of Youth Voice & Participation and give you the practical skills to put them into action. You will discover how to give young people a say and empower them to take a lead.

We will explore:

– Youth voice in context: its origins, concepts and models

– Youth voice in practice: the tools, techniques and skills

– Embedding youth voice: ethics, ethos and organisational culture.

Through interactive activities, group work and knowledge-sharing, you will discover why youth voice is important, how it works and how you can successfully embed the approaches within your practice or organisation. The day is suited to both practitioners and those working within small or large organisations.

The session will be delivered by Sound Connections Programme Manager, Jennifer Raven and youth participation expert, Lawrence Becko.
