Throughout this workshop, you can expect to learn about the people at the heart of the Music Therapy profession: our clients, their families and carers. You'll find out about the different Music Therapy approaches and the wide variety of settings in which we work.
What will be covered in the session?
We will support you to think about the realities of working across health, education and social care sectors, as well as experiencing what it is like to be a Music Therapist in the community. The Music Therapist’s toolbox is varied and we will introduce you to the approaches of music centred, psychodynamic, neurologic and community music therapy, as well as sharing some of the common assessment tools and outcome measures used in the varying sectors. As an organisation, Chiltern’s passion lies in being able to help our clients to share their stories and giving them a voice.
We will also discuss routes into the profession with input from the various accredited providers.
We will showcase video and audio examples of some of those clients and their families that we are privileged to meet and work with.
