The CBSO is looking for a focused and enthusiastic team player to join its Learning & Participation department

The CBSO’s Learning & Participation programme currently provides performance and workshop opportunities for early years groups through to older people living in residential care, a broad programme of schools based activities for both mainstream and special schools, a 200 strong community choir, partnership programmes with Music Education Hubs, community groups and care providers and a series of main season orchestral concerts for schools and families. The 110-strong CBSO Youth Orchestra is also managed through the Learning & Participation department.

The Youth & Ensembles Officer will support all the CBSO’s projects delivered with young people outside school hours, including the CBSO Youth Orchestra, Project Remix and young people’s orchestral days. You will also be responsible for a Training Scheme for undergraduates and a Post Graduate course for orchestral string players delivered in partnership with the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. In addition you will support CBSO performances delivered for Children and Young People at both the CBSO Centre and Symphony Hall each year, including Family Concerts and our Notelets concerts for the under 5’s.
