Location: York
Salary: £24,771 to £27,830 per annum pro rata
Deadline: 28 March 2019
The International Centre for Community Music (ICCM) at York St John University is looking for an effective communicator to support the delivery of its new Ethno research project
The International Centre for Community Music (ICCM) is a research centre based in the School of Performance and Media Production and directed by Professor Lee Higgins. The ICCM aims to provide a global forum through which community music research, teaching, scholarship, professional practice and pedagogy can be nurtured and developed. Over the next three-years we will collaborate with JM International on a project focusing on global folk music and young musicians. The research will focus on the impact that Ethno has had on the lives of young musicians, personally and professionally, over the past 30 years.
Based within the ICCM team at our beautiful York campus, you will work closely with researchers and other members of the ICCM to coordinate the effective delivery of this significant project.
An effective communicator, you will be able to quickly build relationships with diverse groups of researchers and international colleagues involved in Ethno. You will bring experience in project co-ordination and communications including managing data collection, organization of events and coordinating project logistics, (including booking travel) as well as promoting the research outputs and developing an engaged audience through the website and social media.
This role is offered on the basis of 15 hours per week, for the duration of the Ethno Project. Flexibility is available and hours can be agreed with the Director of ICCM.
