The successful candidate will take on a key role at Brighter Sound, with management and strategic responsibilities in our growing, exciting and dynamic organisation.

You will form part of our Senior Management Team alongside the Head of Programmes, reporting to the company Director. You will have lead responsibility for finances, HR, fundraising and development, strategic planning and general management.

Brighter Sound is a pioneering music charity based in central Manchester.

Our work paves the way for the music makers of the future, re-balancing the music landscape so that diversity and creativity can flourish and be celebrated.

Rooted in the North of England with national and international reach, we deliver a programme of exciting creative projects and events to support young and emerging musicians. In the past we’ve connected our participants with inspirational artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Beth Orton, Nadine Shah, Everything Everything, Anna Meredith, Bugzy Malone and Snarky Puppy.

Our thriving programme is constantly growing. Previous commissions include The Hexagon Experiment (Great Exhibition of the North 2018) and Manchester Hill Remembered (in partnership with Manchester City Council and Manchester Histories). This work complements our core programme of support for young and emerging musicians which includes Both Sides Now - our groundbreaking initiative to support gender equality in music.
