Freelance Music Practitioners
Location: Bristol
Deadline: 18 March 2019
Bristol Plays Music (BPM) is looking for inspiring and experienced Music Practitioners and Music Centre Assistants to support its busy education team in delivering high quality music tuition and music making opportunities to young people across Bristol

BPM is the Arts Council England’s Music Education Hub for Bristol, managed by Bristol Music Trust and based at Colston Hall. We are looking for the following freelance practitioners to teach in schools and Music Centres and provide Music Centre support from April 2019:

  • Instrumental Guitar Tutors with experience in delivering small group, individual and whole class tuition to children and young people. Experience in delivering guitar ensemble work would be advantageous.
  • Music Centre Assistants to carry out administrative tasks within our music centres.

We are an inclusive practice organisation and as such welcome applications from musicians experienced in working with children in challenging circumstances, including children in care and children with SEND.

Applications are invited from creative musicians from all sections of the community with proven teaching excellence, good communication skills and a real passion and commitment for teaching music to children and young people from all backgrounds. We particularly encourage applications from black, Asian, ethnic minority (BAME), and/or disabilities as these groups are currently underrepresented in the arts. All BPM Freelance Practitioners receive comprehensive and high quality CPD throughout the year, including training, networking and mentoring.
