Join More Music and ICCM researcher Ruth Currie as they reflect on their recent partnership-led research, Music for Health in Morecambe.
The session is presented by Anna Daly, Kathryn MacDonald and Ruth Currie.
Anna Daly is project manager for the 'Music for Health in Morecambe' programme funded by Spirit of 2012. Anna has been working in community arts and education in the NW for over 20 years, starting out as a community dance artist, now developing partnership projects across arts & community health.
Kathryn MacDonald is the director of More Music. She was the first employee of More Music and has played a key role in its development. Kathryn is an experienced creative producer with a wide-ranging knowledge of music, the arts, education, culture and community participation at a local, national and international level. She is passionate about Morecambe, the potential of the town and its people, and is committed to inclusion, social justice and the progress of young people.
Ruth Currie is a Research Associate with the International Centre for Community Music where she is involved with two projects: Working Together (the focus of this event) and MOVE (an intercultural youth music exchange programme). Previously a secondary school music teacher, Ruth has been a freelance arts manager and evaluator in the cultural sector since 2013, including during her part-time PhD. Her research considers the relationship between community music and cultural policy, with a particular interest in leadership.
The session runs from 2-3.30pm (the room will be open from 1.50pm to allow 10 minutes for set-up time, to say hello and to ensure a prompt start).
