Following the 2nd SIMM-posium in 2017, the 7th SIMM-posium will in 2022 again be organized at and by the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, this time in a close collaboration with the Copenhagen based Rhythmic Music Conservatory and its Centre for Research in Artistic Citizenship (CReARC/RMC) and of course also with the research platform SIMM.
This SIMM-posium will aim to be in-person (maximum registration 100), but it will also allow online attendance.
There is provision in the programme for only up to 40 brief (10 minute) presentations of research or research-related work in progress (or critical reflections on research), which are curated into thematic panels of four to five presentations followed by a plenary discussion. Presentations of practice with no relation to research are excluded.
Presentations on research concerning any aspect of making music’s social impact have been welcomed, but a specific interest during this conference will concern the following topics:
- Training for socially engaged musicians
- Interprofessional collaboration
- SIMM-practice during the pandemic
- The practice of facilitation within SIMM-projects
