Interactive Music-Making with Under 5s
01 September 2021 - 31 May 2022
A practical-based part-time learning programme for those who would like to use music as a resource to support early years child development

Interactive Music-Making is a child-centred approach to music-making, which promotes positive relationships and fosters each child’s individual potential. It uses techniques drawn from music therapy within an approach designed to make music integral part of children’s early development opportunities, supporting skills associated with social communication, including attention and listening, non-verbal and verbal communication, turn-taking and sharing.

This training course comprises 12-weekly teaching sessions, with an emphasis on practical learning which can be applied directly in the workplace as the course unfolds, followed by a practical assignment (running interactive music-making sessions for a small group of children in the course participant’s early years setting).

The IMM Course will run from September 2021 to May 2022. The taught component will take place at Morden Mount School, in South East London, from the 17th September - 3rd December 2021, on Friday afternoons (12-3pm).

Course cost is £695.
